What can I expect at your worship services?

  • Our services are very simple. We normally include a combination of 6 acts of worship into our gatherings: Music, Prayer, Preaching the Word, Scripture reading, Giving, and Communion. Our service is about 90 minutes long with most of that time dedicated to music and preaching.

How should I dress?

  • The bottom line is that we do not have a preference of how people dress. Most people dress informal, casual, and modest. Please do not let "church clothes" be a stumbling block to coming.

Will I be expected to give money?

  • Giving is an act of worship only for people who call PRBC their home. If you are a guest, please do NOT feel obligated to give money during our offering.

What should I do with my kids?

  • We love to have kids at PRBC. During the main worship service we have a nursery for babies up to 2 years old.  All children go to the worship service with their families for the singing portion and kids through 5th grade are dismissed to classes after the singing. Kids are also very welcome to stay in the service with their families for the preaching time. Parents should not worry if their babies or children are "squeeky" or "restless". The sound of children is music to our ears!

What is your music style?

  • We have many music groups with unique styles who lead the congregation in singing. Most bands incorporate drums, guitars, and keyboards. We sing some old hymns along with many modern praise songs. On any given Sunday we may sing both John Newton and Chris Tomlin and anything inbetween. In whatever we sing, the lyrics are of paramount importance.

Do you take communion?

  • Generally we take communion as a body of believers about once per month. This is a symbolic memorial of the work of Jesus on the cross. We pass out small cups of grape juice to symbolize the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. We pass out small crackers to symbolize Jesus' body which was killed on our behalf. This service is for anyone who believes in Jesus for their salvation regardless of whether a person is a guest or not.

What is PRBC's preaching style?

  • PRBC is committed to expositional and inductive preaching of Scripture. That is, our preaching is done verse by verse through various books of the Bible rather than by different topics.

Is PRBC associated with any denomination?

  • No. PRBC is independent, non-denominational, and self-governing.

How is PRBC structured?

  • PRBC is cared for by shepherds (elders). PRBC is an elder led church. We do not have a hierarchy of pastors. We do not have a “senior pastor” or an “assistant pastor” or a “youth pastor” who work above and below each other. All PRBC elders are pastors and work together as a team to spiritually lead the church. It is the job of the elders to preach, teach, counsel, guide, and make decisions; therefore, some elders are freed up financially to devote more time for these purposes and for the purpose of dedicating themselves to prayer and Scripture.
